Honda XBlade made in Bangladesh being exported to South America
From January this year, Bangladesh Honda Private Limited (BAHL) has started exporting XBlade model of Japanese brand Honda made in Bangladesh to the Central American country of Guatemala by air on experimental basis. The company officially started exporting by sea from Tuesday. This program was officially inaugurated at its own factory established at Abdul Monem Export Zone in Ghazaria, of Munshiganj district near Dhaka.
BAHL Managing Director Shigeru Matsuzaki highlighted the plan to export to North and South American countries in a press conference in this regard. Apart from this plan, it was announced that Honda will start manufacturing electric vehicles-EVs in Bangladesh this year. In the press conference, duty free facilities were demanded through bank guarantee to increase production in Bangladesh.
BAHL Managing Director Shigeru Matsuzaki said on the occasion that Honda Bangladesh has started new employment by producing motorcycles. But due to decrease in foreign exchange reserves of the country, there is an obstacle in the procurement of raw materials required for KD parts of Honda. However, after overcoming this crisis, we are trying to play a role in eliminating the dollar crisis by increasing local supply and starting exports.
He said, if the import of Bangladeshi parts and customs complications are prevented, the opportunity to do business in Bangladesh will be expanded.
Honda Bangladesh Chief Officer Hiroiki Yasunaga delivered a welcome speech at the event moderated by HR and Admin AKM Abidur Rahman. The Chief Marketing Officer Shah Muhammad Ashekur Rahman highlighted business planning and market segmentation at the event.
He said, only Honda in Bangladesh manufactures the entire engine inside the country. This factory has the capacity to manufacture 70,000 motorcycles annually. Among those, the XBlade is completely made in Bangladesh. 220 motorcycles are being manufactured every day. 14 units of this bike have been officially exported today. 4 lakh 50 thousand motorcycles have been sold in the local market.
In response to a question, it was informed that although the Hondas are made in Bangladesh, they are checked by Japanese technical experts. This motorcycle made in Bangladesh will carry the flag of Bangladesh in the world. Starting with Guatemala, the number of these countries will increase day by day.
After giving this information, in the presence of investors, bank officials, 14 containers carrying motorcycles started on the way to Chattogram port.
